Listen to “Merriweather Post Pavillion” by Animal Collective. It will change your life…like “Garden State” did.

Ludacris is playing at Cornell tonight. IF his publicity team would have granted me an interview, this might have been what would have happened:
Winn: You’re pretty good at acting.
Luda: Thanks.
Winn: I liked you in Crash.
Luda: Thanks.
Winn: Isn’t it kind of contradictory to play socially conscious roles in movies, then make songs about slapping bitches?
Luda: Fuck it.
Winn: Word.

Obama = So Hood?
I wasn’t on board with Barack Obama at first and I admit it. “He may not be that good.” Yeah, I said that stuff. It was me.
However, I starting to lean towards the idea of Obama being so hood, it’s not even funny.
The front page of The Huffington Post this morning showcased a bad ass Barack Obama, who was openly stating his intent to battle legislation regarding healthcare, education, and energy reform. Keep in mind the word “battle” in that sentence. Obama’s address was more or less a “I’m not afraid of rich bullies” statement, something I think too many presidents have been afraid to say before.
In short, let me equate this for you:
One man speaking (continuously) about hope and change = Kind of hip.
One man speaking to our country’s mover and shakers about having a political fight = So Gangsta.
Check the official post here.
Speaking of gangsta, if you haven’t heard the new DOOM (formerly MF Doom) track, you’re missing out. I could only think of one word when trying to figure out how to describe it: C-R-A-C-K.

DOOM
DOOM’S new album, “Born Like This” is set to drop on March 24…but we all know how those things go.
KANYE WEST “Welcome To Heartbreak” Directed by Nabil from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.
Whether you like Kanye West or not (and I don’t)…you have to pay respect to good art. Or you don’t.
DON’T FREAK OUT ON YOUR COMPUTER. THE VIDEO IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THAT.
Kanye West’s “Welcome To Heartbreak” by Nabil may be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Try turning the sound off and playing something else during it.
Stay Up.
P.S. – If you’re really diggin it and inclined to see more stuff by Nabil, checkout:

Sasquatch Music Festival 2009
Have you heard of this? I know you haven’t. Don’t lie.
The 2009 Sasquatch Music Festival, taking place on May 23-25 in George, Washington (if you think that’s not funny, that’s because it’s not) at the Gorge Amphitheater is one of those festivals that seems to subtly slip under the radar. When you’ve got you Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, 10,000 Lakes and the freshly made Rothbury Festival, a lot of other festivals seem to lose out on their chance to shine.
Sasquatch may be the best of these forgotten festivals.
Check the line-up: Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Erykah Badu, Nine Inch Nails, Explosions In the Sky, M. Ward, Animal Collective, of Montreal, Jane’s Addiction, Ben Harper & The Relentless7, TV on the Radio, Gogol Bordello, and Ra Ra Riot.
Tell me another sick, low-key festival where you can see Erykah Badu and enjoy the great state of Washington…oh, wait. You can’t.
