The comedy world can be a fickle place. One minute your up, the next minute your act is tired and you’re yesterday’s news. Take Dane Cook. Four, five years ago he was everyone’s favorite stand up. Then in a blink of an eye his shit got old, he made a series of terrible movies and now he’s the butt of the jokes.
For my money Zach Galifianakis is number one these days. He’s one of very few comedians today who I’d give the title of Comic Genius and that’s probably an understatement as to how amazingly funny he is. He just made his first big mainstream hit this summer with the Hangover and I’m hoping that some time in the limelight doesn’t cause him to spoil. One things for sure, we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the coming years.
